Well, in this photo I guess he’s patient Ellis! I came into the room and found him and Audrey playing doctor with his tool kit! ha! Now he loves to “fix my belly” by hammering on it and putting the screw driver in my belly button – which I can’t stand! Makes me squirm! The tool kit is Handy Manny, so it’s not exactly sharp or anything. Guess I need to get him a doctor’s kit now!
As I mentioned in a previous post, Evie and Max came back last week for a couple of days. Jack LOVED playing with Evie, and we invited Audrey and her family over for dinner too! The kids were running around screaming all night. It was really cute. We discovered Evie and Audrey are one day apart! And with the time difference between here and Germany, technically they could have been born on the same day! 
Despite their close age, Audrey kept calling Evie and Jack “her children!” ha!
And here’s Max! Jack loved looking at him and rocking him. He’s such a good baby and barely peeped!
Here are some cute pics of Jack I recently took. He’s doing great and keeping me very active. Jack has a lot of energy – a typical boy!
On Sunday we went the zoo because it’s finally cooling down (only 89 instead of 95!). We rented a quad bike again because I wanted to feed the giraffes, and the walk to the giraffes is about 1.5 hours – and then you have to walk back down to the exit! It’s much quicker on the bike and Jack loves to sit at the front. He’s up high so he can see all of the animals this way.
He loves looking at the fish. You can hear him say “fish” over and over!
The giraffe feeding station opens at 11 am, and we got there at 10:45 because the lines are usually long. It’s a good thing we were early because they opened it early in hopes to beat the rain. We were first to feed the giraffes! As we were walking down the ramp it started to POUR! We stood under the shelter at the bottom of the ramp for about 20 minutes, but we still got pretty wet! I’m bummed we didn’t get any photos of us because we looked funny. But, Jack didn’t mind and we just waited until it slowed down and got back on the bike.

Giraffes are so cute! I wanted to pet it. (The “I Love Florida” strap around Gerry’s neck had the key to the bike!)
And finally, Jack on the front of the bike looking like a stud! The humidity makes his hair really curly!
Like most kids, Jack LOVES bubbles! We do them a lot in the house since it’s so hot outside! We have an automatic bubble machine shaped like a dog that he loves. But these bubbles are the Gymboree bubbles. We were at a party that had these, and they were the best bubbles we’d ever seen! They sell them in the stores so we bought a set. It comes with the bubble wand that looks like a horn, and the bubbles. They don’t pop for some reason! They were all over the floor and I had to Swiffer them! haha! We even found them on the stairs, which are around the corner, and all over his highchair and the walls!
Hi all! Hope you had a nice weekend. I just thought I’d post a general update, since Jack seems to be doing so much these days. Sorry I don’t have a photo. I need to take some! He is babbling so much. It’s really cute and makes me laugh. He’ll go on and on in jibberish and then throw in a word he knows, like “car” or “Ella!” His new thing is “thank you” but it sounds like “tay-ooooooo.” We were so surprised when he started saying it! Every time we hand him something he says it! It’s funny! I guess we drilled it into him by saying it every time we handed him something!
He’s also pulling himself up now. Better late than never! He pulls himself onto his chair, pulls up on the couch, pulls up in his crib…he loves to climb on everything. Call me paranoid, but because he is showing his climbing ability so early, we decided to anchor some of the furniture to the wall. I have read or seen too many stories in the news where a kid climbed up a shelf or dresser and it fell on them. So, I got some great safety items at OneStepAhead.com. Our BabiesRUs doesn’t carry furniture anchors. I also got something to anchor the TV to the entertainment center, as the one upstairs isn’t so big and I can see him pulling on it! That was our Sunday project.
It’s getting so hot here that we didn’t do much this weekend. Next weekend I want to try to go to the new waterpark they JUST opened in Miami! It looks so fun. It’s called Grapeland, and there’s a baby area and everything. Then it’s Father’s Day weekend! Yeah! I have surprises in store but I can only tell you about them AFTER the weekend cause Gerry reads the blog! ha! He goes out of town on the 19th for a week but the Abowitz’s arrive for their vacation so that makes it ok! Yippee!
Ok, better get back to work. I have been blogging for my client for 3 hours, yes 3 hours! So, I wanted to take a quick break and post on our blog!
Here’s the caricature we had done of Jack at the fair, as promised! It is just the cutest thing ever! He was wearing his shirt from St. Patrick’s Day, so that’s why they did the Team Irish. We love it so much we’re having it framed!

Sorry it’s been a couple of weeks. No real excuse – just busy! Jack is doing great. He’s all over the place now, so we really have to watch him! He loves to push the buttons on the DVD player His mobility also means I have to clean more! Ella’s hairs are all over and they’re black. Oh well!
As you can see by this photo, we’re also working with him on feeding himself. He can do it, but it only lasts a few spoonfulls and then he’d ready to return to being fed like the prince that he is! haha!
Not much else. Gerry’s been sick but he’s on the mend. We’re going to St. Louis next weekend to meet Riley and see everyone. I CAN’T WAIT! Rikki and her girls will be there too, and I haven’t seen them since our wedding two-and-a-half years ago! And she hasn’t met Jack. So that will be special. It’s also the first time in years I’ll be “home” for Passover, so that will be nice. We’re going to Seder at Ava and Steve’s, so it’s going to be a wonderful time. Jack will get to hang out with the 7, yes 7, little girls in the Greenfield-Schwedt-Lefkowitz group!
On Sunday we took Jack to the Miami Fair, and we had the best time!!! He loved it and so did we. It’s a huge fair they have for 3 weeks every year here in Miami, and it’s like Creve Coeur Days, the VP Fair and a farm “fair” all in one! Who needs Disney!? haha! We rode the carousel three times and he loved the “dumbo” and bee rides. They had a petting zoo, as well as all of the prized animals on display (see the turkey below). And yes, they had pig races! Jack was so excited to see the pigs – he squeeled! And guess where the pigs were from…MISSOURI! Here are some of the highlights. Oh, we also had a caricature of him done, and it’s adorable!
