Our Trip to the Zoo September 30, 2008

Filed under: General, Photos, Videos — julescruise @ 7:04 pm

On Sunday we went the zoo because it’s finally cooling down (only 89 instead of 95!). We rented a quad bike again because I wanted to feed the giraffes, and the walk to the giraffes is about 1.5 hours – and then you have to walk back down to the exit! It’s much quicker on the bike and Jack loves to sit at the front. He’s up high so he can see all of the animals this way.

He loves looking at the fish. You can hear him say “fish” over and over!

The giraffe feeding station opens at 11 am, and we got there at 10:45 because the lines are usually long. It’s a good thing we were early because they opened it early in hopes to beat the rain. We were first to feed the giraffes! As we were walking down the ramp it started to POUR! We stood under the shelter at the bottom of the ramp for about 20 minutes, but we still got pretty wet! I’m bummed we didn’t get any photos of us because we looked funny. But, Jack didn’t mind and we just waited until it slowed down and got back on the bike.

Here’s a video:

And some photos:

Notice it’s black tongue wrapped around the lettuce!

Giraffes are so cute! I wanted to pet it. (The “I Love Florida” strap around Gerry’s neck had the key to the bike!) :)

And finally, Jack on the front of the bike looking like a stud! The humidity makes his hair really curly!

When you Can’t Reach Something… September 30, 2008

…find a way! This is where we found Jack the other day! When he can’t reach one of his trains, he climbs on the table instead of walking around it to get to what he wants!

Jack and his Danimal September 23, 2008

This video just makes me smile. Jack is too cute drinking his Danimal (a yogurt drink for kids by Dannon). He LOVES his Danimals!

Jack and the Bush! September 23, 2008

Here’s a really cute video of Jack outside our house. Ignore how stupid I sound telling him to be “gentle” while hitting the bush! I had no clue Gerry was filming! haha! But despite me sounding like a nut, Jack looks really cute and he’s really happy to be hitting the bush! The video is pre-haircut.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame! September 23, 2008

Here are photos of Sunday’s Marlins game. It was Jack’s second baseball game but his first Marlins game! It was so much fun. We had amazing seats thanks to our friends Diana and Jorge. And because it’s the Marlins and no one really cares about them, Jack had his own seat – haha! I have such fun memories of always going to the last home game for the Cardinals because we got free tickets to a game the next season.

Jack and daddy enjoying the game

Go Marlins! He was so cute clapping when the crowd clapped.

Mommy and Jack (my shirt isn’t that low cut!).

Our view

Can’t wait until next season!

Jack’s A Busy Boy! September 23, 2008

I know, it’s been a long time since I updated. We’ve been busy, but that’s no excuse. So, where to start…? Well, this past weekend we finally got Jack a haircut. I had wanted to grow it longer to see if it would grow down, but it just grew out and got a bit fluffy :) Gerry was very patient with me and let me let it grow. But, it was time for a cut and he looks soooo cute! Here’s the result:

He still has his curls! The rest of the photos in this post are pre-cut.

On Labor Day we went to Parrot Jungle. It was Jack’s first time and he loved it. He even sat through the 30-minute bird show!

Jack loves the TV show “Oobi.” It’s basically a hand with eyes. I remember my sister and I saying how stupid it was and why couldn’t we have thought of it! But, the more I watch it with him the more I really like it – shock! :) I got a pair of Oobi eyes on ebay and it came with some cheaper ones that I let Jack play with. (The yellow pair are on Jack’s hand but you can’t see the eye part.) It’s kinda creapy how putting on the eys looks just like the TV show!

Jack has really taken notice of Ella recently. He loves to chase her on his ride-on truck and she just runs! He also loves to pet and hug her. Here, she’s getting a bit of love from Gerry and Jack. Her tongue is so funny! I snapped at the right moment.

And finally, just a really cute pic. This was taken Saturday, post-haircut.

Yesterday we took Jack to the last Marlin’s game of the season, and it was so much fun! I will post those pics tomorrow, as I’m watching “Dancing with the Stars” while I’m posting this :)
