I know, it’s been a while. But all that traveling makes it hard to blog! We had a GREAT time in St. Louis. Jack got lots of love from Grandma. The leaves were changing and it was just beautiful. I sure do miss seasons. Jack was perfect on the plane. In fact, on the way there he fell asleep before take-off and didn’t wake up until he was in his crib! Here’s what we did (well, the things I remember!), in a condensed version:
Wed: Paige and Hailey came over and then we had a playdate with Karyn, Maya and Ryan. Maya is a few months older than Jack. She is so adorable! I was very impressed watching her ride on her electric car. She could push the button to go but not turn. It was soooo cute! And Ryan is very sweet and articulate. It was cute when he asked Gerry to play with him.
Thurs: Happy Thanksgiving! In the morning we went to Erica’s to play with Gabby and Jacob. Paige and Hailey came over too. Gabby is so cute with Jack. She is going to be a great mommy. She LOVES babies! I told her she was a great mommy and she got so excited. She loves to hold Jack and play with him. So sweet! Then we had a nice family meal with all of the Thanksgiving favorites.
(Paige, Jack and Hailey)
Friday: MY FAVORITE DAY! Mom and I woke up at 4:30 am (yes, AM!) to SHOP!! I love going out for the bargains on Black Friday! We went to Toys R Us (were there by 5 am to get the good deals), Kohl’s and the mall. My big bargain was the Itsy-Bitsy Spider-Man that retails for $30 and I got for $9.99! SO MUCH FUN! Needless to say, we came back to Miami with an extra suitcase! We also went to met Baby Evan! He is adorable and looks just like Allison did when she was born. Jack loves having a new friend!
Friday night we got together with the Schwedt-David-Greenfield-Lefkowitz-Ellis clan! It is so fun to see the kids together. Do you think Jack feels outnumbered? Next year it will be seven girls and Jack! We had a great time!
(Taylor, Lauren, Madeline, Maya, Jack, Paige and Hailey)
Saturday: We met Shelley, Michael, Paige and Hailey at the mall for lunch and rides on the carousel. Jack loved the ride! We also shopped a bit more
Saturday night was double fun! Not only was it the Mizzou vs. KU game, but it was the get-together at Karyn’s with Julie, Erica, Dipali, the kids and more Mizzou grads! Poor Stuart – the only KU grad! MIZZOU WON so we’re going for the Big 12 Championship! It was typical with all of the husbands in the family room watching the game and all of the wives in the basement and kitchen playing with the kids! I brought Jack home at 7 pm when he fell asleep in Gerry’s arms on the couch (oops) and my mom watched him so I could go back and enjoy the game. Great night.
Sunday: Brunch with Beth, Cady and Kyra. I can’t believe Cady is looking at colleges and Kyra is taller than both of them!! Time flies. They were so little when I nannied for them, and now they are all grown up (sniff sniff!). Sunday evening Erica and Gabby came over for a few minutes and then Audrey, Frank and Matthew came over for our early holiday celebration. It was nice to have them for dinner. Matthew has a British teacher this year, so it was fun to hear how mean she is – haha!
Monday: flew back to Miami. Had to connect in Tampa, but Jack did so well. Slept until we got to Miami and then he thought it was time to party. Wouldn’t fall asleep until 11 pm! Oh well, what can ya do?!
Hope those of you in the U.S. had a nice holiday.
P.S. – Jack is still in his helmet, but we took it off for these photos
