Happy Belated Thanksgiving! November 28, 2007

Filed under: Family, Vacations — julescruise @ 4:00 pm

I know, it’s been a while. But all that traveling makes it hard to blog! We had a GREAT time in St. Louis. Jack got lots of love from Grandma. The leaves were changing and it was just beautiful. I sure do miss seasons. Jack was perfect on the plane. In fact, on the way there he fell asleep before take-off and didn’t wake up until he was in his crib! Here’s what we did (well, the things I remember!), in a condensed version:

Wed: Paige and Hailey came over and then we had a playdate with Karyn, Maya and Ryan. Maya is a few months older than Jack. She is so adorable! I was very impressed watching her ride on her electric car. She could push the button to go but not turn. It was soooo cute! And Ryan is very sweet and articulate. It was cute when he asked Gerry to play with him.

Thurs: Happy Thanksgiving! In the morning we went to Erica’s to play with Gabby and Jacob. Paige and Hailey came over too. Gabby is so cute with Jack. She is going to be a great mommy. She LOVES babies! I told her she was a great mommy and she got so excited. She loves to hold Jack and play with him. So sweet! Then we had a nice family meal with all of the Thanksgiving favorites.

Friday: MY FAVORITE DAY! Mom and I woke up at 4:30 am (yes, AM!) to SHOP!! I love going out for the bargains on Black Friday! We went to Toys R Us (were there by 5 am to get the good deals), Kohl’s and the mall. My big bargain was the Itsy-Bitsy Spider-Man that retails for $30 and I got for $9.99! SO MUCH FUN! Needless to say, we came back to Miami with an extra suitcase! We also went to met Baby Evan! He is adorable and looks just like Allison did when she was born. Jack loves having a new friend!

Friday night we got together with the Schwedt-David-Greenfield-Lefkowitz-Ellis clan! It is so fun to see the kids together. Do you think Jack feels outnumbered? Next year it will be seven girls and Jack! We had a great time!

Saturday: We met Shelley, Michael, Paige and Hailey at the mall for lunch and rides on the carousel. Jack loved the ride! We also shopped a bit more :)

Saturday night was double fun! Not only was it the Mizzou vs. KU game, but it was the get-together at Karyn’s with Julie, Erica, Dipali, the kids and more Mizzou grads! Poor Stuart – the only KU grad! MIZZOU WON so we’re going for the Big 12 Championship! It was typical with all of the husbands in the family room watching the game and all of the wives in the basement and kitchen playing with the kids! I brought Jack home at 7 pm when he fell asleep in Gerry’s arms on the couch (oops) and my mom watched him so I could go back and enjoy the game. Great night.

Sunday: Brunch with Beth, Cady and Kyra. I can’t believe Cady is looking at colleges and Kyra is taller than both of them!! Time flies. They were so little when I nannied for them, and now they are all grown up (sniff sniff!). Sunday evening Erica and Gabby came over for a few minutes and then Audrey, Frank and Matthew came over for our early holiday celebration. It was nice to have them for dinner. Matthew has a British teacher this year, so it was fun to hear how mean she is – haha!

Monday: flew back to Miami. Had to connect in Tampa, but Jack did so well. Slept until we got to Miami and then he thought it was time to party. Wouldn’t fall asleep until 11 pm! Oh well, what can ya do?!

Hope those of you in the U.S. had a nice holiday.

P.S. – Jack is still in his helmet, but we took it off for these photos :)

We have Another Tooth! November 14, 2007

Filed under: Milestones — julescruise @ 7:15 pm

Sorry it’s been a while, but it’s been so busy! On Sunday we saw Jack’s second tooth had popped through! It’s on the bottom next to his first. He’s having a lot of fun with his teeth … biting things! He’s eating the baby biscuits well now because of the teeth, and he looks so cute with them.

Other than that, nothing major to report. We go to St. Louis next Tuesday for Thanksgiving, and I am very very very very excited. I have to go to Tampa for the day on Sunday for Holland America, so it will just be the boys and football! Oh, tomorrow I have the Soap Opera Cruise function on Carnival with the soap stars. We are going to the party with media. There are 10 stars from all of the different soaps. Sadly, I don’t really watch anymore, but had this been back in college, it would have been a dream come true! haha!

A Couple of Firsts November 8, 2007

On Saturday we took Jack to Sugar Sand Park in Boca to meet up with Lynda, Linda, Jen and their kids. Since Yvonne was in town (we all worked on the Sun), we wanted to get together. It was so much fun! We had a picnic and the kids played. Lynda’s Sara is 3 weeks older than Jack and Linda’s Averie is a month younger, so it’s nice the kids are the same age. Lynda also has Sam (2), Linda also has Madison (3) and Jen was there with Katie (4) and baby Anna (3 months). Jack got his first swing ride and carousel ride. He loved the swing after a few gentle pushes and while he liked the carousel, I wouldn’t say he was over the moon! haha!

Too cute! Averie is front left, her big sister Madison is behind her looking at Jack and Sara is on the right.

Happy Halloween from Paige & Hailey! November 1, 2007

Here’s a cute picture of Paige and Hailey on Halloween yesterday. Hailey is Cookie Monster and Paige is Princess Belle. They look adorable! Hailey was sooooo excited about her costume, and at school in their parade the kids kept yelling “there’s Cookie!”

Happy Halloween everyone! We hope you had a great time trick-or-treating. We didn’t go since Gerry is out of town and Jack is too young to care! And, with Tropical Storm Noel it rained. Poor kiddies. As you can see, Jack was a Rams football player. I figured it would be easier to work with the helmet than around it! He looks so cute :) Yesterday he wore his skeleton shirt, which glows in the dark, and this morning we took the picture with the pjs and bib (which is why he looks sleepy!).
